Some stumps are just too far gone to grind - old, rotted, with root systems that have spread wide and deep over the years. That's exactly the kind of situation we ran into here. A massive dead tree with a trunk so weathered it was splitting apart at the top. The kind of thing that's been sitting in the yard for years, taking up space and going nowhere on its own.
We brought in the Bobcat and the chainsaw and got to work. For bigger stumps like this one, sometimes the most efficient approach is to cut it down and rip the root mass out entirely rather than trying to grind through it piece by piece. We have the equipment to handle either method - grinding or full extraction - and we pick the one that makes the most sense for the job.
Once the tree and stump were out, the ground gets worked over and cleaned up. The root debris and material gets piled and cleared. What you're left with is open, usable ground instead of a rotting obstacle sitting in the middle of your yard. That flat, cleared soil is ready for whatever comes next - grass seed, gravel, a new structure, or just clean open space.
Stumps have a way of sticking around forever if you let them. They're a tripping hazard, they attract pests, and they take up ground you could actually be using. We handle all of it - the removal, the grinding, and the cleanup - so you're not left with a mess when we leave.
